LISTEN: First sardine shoals sighted off KZN south coast
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
The first sardine shoals of the 2018 season have been sighted off the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.
The KZN Sharks Board says small isolated pockets of sardines were seen off Mtwalume and Umtentweni today.
Officials took another observation flight to the Eastern Cape earlier after more reports of sardine activity came in from south of the KwaZulu-Natal border.
The sharks board's Mike Anderson-Reade says all signs are looking good for a busy sardine run this year.
Newswatch's Shaun Ryan chatted to Anderson-Reade a little earlier this afternoon.
Anderson-Reade says another observation flight will take-off tomorrow.
