LISTEN: Cheers as UKZN students are released from jail

Students marched on the Durban City Hall today - demanding that those arrested during the FeesMustFall protests, be released.
But it didn't take long for the Durban University of Technology (DUT) marchers to get what they wanted.

Student activist Gazuzu Nduli shared the latest developments with them.
Students handed over a memorandum, listing their demands to police on behalf of presecuting officials at the City Hall.
They want the president to intervene in the higher education fees debate.

Students have protested on various campuses around the country this year.
They've demanded that fees be scrapped but government has consistently argued that this is not a viable option and that those who can afford to pay must do so.
Government has insisted that plans can only be put in place to assist the poor and the so-called missing middle.
