LISTEN: Bheki Ntuli bemoans experience at Durban licensing offices

KZN Transport MEC's had firsthand experience of what it's like to stand in a queue at some of Durban's licensing offices.

He says it was not a good experience.
"The experience that I have experienced here is not very good."
Bheki Ntuli's been visiting license testing centres in the province and expressed dismay on Wednesday when he'd gone to inspect branches in Rossburgh and Pinetown.
He says understaffing is partly to blame for the frustrating delays, and that urgent intervention's needed.

"I think they need assistance because for them in the past, this area was serving a small number of people that were here.
"But now with the population growth, the numbers are gradually increasing and you find that they are serving people from Umlazi and everywhere. We need to do something as a department," he said.
At the Marianhill Toll Plaza Ntuli said, the drivers of five unlicensed heavy-duty vehicles - "with defaults" - were fined.
