Link between quality education, well-being of teachers: Sadtu
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) has listed the challenges that schools would need to overcome if the education sector is to recover properly from the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The country is marking World Teachers' Day.
Sadtu says the theme ‘Teachers at the Heart of Education Recovery’ places a heavy load on the shoulders of educators still grappling with the effects of the crisis.
It says aside from the untold disruptions to schooling and the economy a total of 1 650 teachers lost their lives in the first year of the pandemic alone.
The union says in order for education recovery to become a reality, the well-being of teachers needs to be brought into sharp focus.
It's called for more investment for training - and says those teachers who've had to quickly adapt to new ways of teaching and learning themselves to contend with the pandemic, need improvements to their working conditions.
