Some UKZN students say there has been talk of possible strike action on the Howard College campus in Durban today.
Protest action broke out at the university's Pietermaritzburg campus yesterday while the SRC in Westville briefed students on what they would be doing in the next few days.
SPeakngi to Newswatch, First year Environmental Management student, Anele Ngubane fears strike action in Durban could begin soon.
"There are lectures going on at the moment but apparently there will be a strike. Lectures are normal and we're attending them everyday," she said.
A meeting between UKZN management and the SRC failed to materialise yesterday.
The university's Lesiba Seshoka says an urgent meeting was then called but student leaders did not attend.
Instead, they demanded the release of those arrested during the protests - something police deny.
Seshoka has given his assurance that everything will be back to normal this morning.
"We will as a university open Pietermaritzburg campus for students to go and study. We will put adequate security and public order police will be on guard so that whoever behaves in a manner that is not acceptable - who commits violence or intimidates others is arrested," he said.
In case you missed it, below students gathered at the university's Westville campus to meet with SRC leadership yesterday.
