'Leave no stone unturned' urges Health MEC to police over nurse murder
Updated | By Newswatch
KZN Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane has urged the police to leave no stone unturned as they investigate hijackings targeted at state vehicles.
A male nurse was shot and killed in Ndwedwe on Wednesday after being hijacked.
The nurse was travelling with five other health professionals to a training session in Durban.
The group was approached by a gunman who opened fire and forced them out of the state vehicle before driving off.

Provincial health spokesperson Mdu Ncalane says another health worker was also recently hijacked while coming back from an outreach programme in the same area.
" Mrs Simelane is shocked and appalled at this alarming rate of seemingly targeted hijackings of health state vehicles as well as the killing of health workers, she says that this is brutal and completely unacceptable.
"She says the modus operandis is being used in which the Department of Health vehicles are being targeted mainly in Ndwedwe."
