More than 400 rhino monitors allocated to KZN

412 monitors have been deployed to deal with the rhino poaching crisis in KZN.
Environmental Affairs says they have been assigned to 23 Ezemvelo protected areas.
Together with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, the departments of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs launched the province's new Rhino Crime Combating task team in the Drakensberg yesterday.

Tourism and Environmental Affairs, MEC Sihle Zikalala says they have found that 90% of the poachers who have been arrested or killed come from two areas.
"We are fighting against the rhino poachers who come mostly from Gauteng and Mpumalanga. A core management agreement has been signed in communities such as Indumo, Teme, Okhukho, and KwaHlabisa to fight rhino poaching," he said.
