At least 17 hurt in Hillcrest crash

At least 17 people have been hurt after a taxi and a bakkie collided with each other on Springside road in Hillcrest yesterday afternoon.
It is unclear what caused the two vehicles to crash. According to Netcare 911 emergency services the eThekwini Fire Department responded to free one of the occupants of the bakkie.
All those hurt were who had sustained moderate to minor injuries were treated on scene before being transported to various hospitals.
In a separate incident also attended the emergency service a 27 year old man in is in a critical condition after he was shot at KwaMashu's A section this morning.
Details around the incident are still sketchy. He was stabilised before being taken to a nearby hospital. Police are expected to investigate both incidents.
