Updated | By Algoa FM News
The lawyer and family of the man believed to have been the one to have shot and killed school teacher Jayde Panayiotou says his cause of death is still unknown.

After spending several days in Port Elizabeth's Livingston Hospital, Sizwezakhe Vumazonke died last month, after falling ill while awaiting trial.
His lawyer, Michelle Blignaut says she is still waiting for the autopsy report on the cause of death of her client. It has been rumoured that Vumazonke may have been poisoned while awaiting trial at St Alban's prison.
Blignaut says she has written to the hospital's superintendent several times but has had no reply.

She says while toxicology tests can take some time - at least by now she and the family should've received the autopsy report.
Meanwhile, Blignaut says her role in court is to protect the interests of her client who had been charged under the doctrine of common purpose.
Questions she would've put to state witnesses will now be put to them on her behalf by other defence counsel.
