Ladysmith mayor, daughter released on R10 000 bail

A Ladysmith mayor and his daughter, who was taken into custody on charges of unlawful possession of firearms, are out on bail.
The Alfred Duma Municipality's Vincent Madlala and his daughter, Sanelisiwe Madlala lined up before the Ezakheni District Court on Monday.
The pair were arrested on Friday.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) KZN spokesperson Natasha Kara says as part of their bail conditions, they've been ordered to report to their local police station once a week.

"The pair appeared on charges of unlawful possession of firearms, while the mayor faces an additional charge of defeating or obstructing the administration of justice.
"They were released on bail of R10 000 each.
"Their matter was remanded to 22 October 2021 for further investigations."
