Multi Grammy award winners, Ladysmith Black Mambazo have officially been named ambassadors for Durban Tourism.
The group that is now tasked with promoting Durban when they travel the world, says the city is very close to their hearts.
Manager of the band, Xolani Majozi says lead singer Professor Joseph Shabalala's old house in Clermont will soon be turned into Ladysmith Black Mambazo Museum.
"Durban is very important for Ladysmith Black Mambazo because the choral group was formed in Durban in Clermont.
"Professor Joseph Shabalala left Ladysmith to seek jobs. That's where he started the group," he said.
