Lack of skills development remains an issue within the local construction industry
Updated | By Steve Bhengu

The annual congress will see industry leaders, key role-players and government stakeholders from around the country gather to tackle various issues within the construction sector.
The event's Pierre Fourie says there are a number of obstacles facing the industry - which affects development and the South African economy.
"We still have problems with available artisan workers. It is a problem [and] in one of our sessions we specifically talk about skills development and the construction industry and the participants there would include our construction CETA, as well as representatives from training providers as well from the construction industry's development board. So skills, artisan skills - is a real issue," he said.
