KZN woman in court facing rape charges

A 15-year-old boy is receiving counselling after he was raped - allegedly by a woman near Scottburgh.

The 23-year-old woman appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrates’ Court this week and was remanded in custody.
She is expected to apply for bail next week.
The police's, Nqobile Gwala says the boy was playing with his friends in Amandawe on Sunday when the woman approached the victim and gave him money.
"The boy resumed playing - the woman came out and joined him. While they were playing, the suspect chased the boy. She caught him and forcefully took him indoors where she raped him. The suspect was then arrested and charged with rape," Gwala said.
