KZN will have no areas declared as ‘no-go zone’ - Hlomuka

KZN's Community Safety MEC says there has been stability in the province despite the fierce contestation ahead of next week's elections.
Sipho Hlomuka told reporters on Monday that regions that are notorious for political intolerance, such as KwaNongoma, are being closely watched.
Last month, the provincial police commissioner said more than 17,000 police officers and other security agencies will be deployed across KZN to ensure a safe election.

The provincial Justice Crime Prevention and Security Cluster held a briefing on its state of readiness for the poll.
"There is no area in KwaZulu-Natal that will be declared as a no-go zone,” said Hlomuka.
“We are working to ensure that we protect our people. We commend committees in these areas for their continued vigilance and traditional leaders who have engaged with their committees and educating them about peace and tolerance.”
