Forecasters say disruptive rains are also expected along the coast up to Richards Bay and over the north-western areas.

The wet weather's causing issues on the roads in parts of Durban this morning, with reports that the M25 KwaMashu off-ramp is waterlogged.

Disaster management teams are on high alert at municipalities across KZN.

The Department of Cooperative Governance is calling on residents to be cautious of flooding and infrastructure damage.
