KZN weather warning: Gale force winds, severe rains and thunderstorms forecast
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Disaster teams are on high alert after the weather service issued a warning for gale force winds, severe thunderstorms and torrential rain in parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

The South African Weather Service says there is a possibility of severe thunderstorms in uThukela, uMgungundlovu and the Harry Gwala districts on Tuesday.
In addition there is a high possibility of heavy rains which could lead to localised flooding and reduced visibility in Ugu & eThekwini.
KZN MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Sipho Hlomuka says teams have already been sent out to the areas.
"We have placed our teams on high alert as inclement weather conditions continue to pose a serious risk to residents in our province. Our teams are monitoring areas that are prone to flooding and will be able to respond should any situations arise."
"We are appealing to residents, especially along the coast, to put their safety first and ensure that they seek shelter in a sturdy building during these strong winds," said Hlomuka.
