If you are celebrating in Durban, weather forecaster Wiseman Dlamini says it's going to be a cloudy evening with the temperature dropping to around 22-degrees in some places after 10pm.

"It's going to be cool to warmish this evening. We are going for a 60% chance of showers in the evening; however, at this stage, we don't have any weather alerts for KZN."

While similar weather conditions are expected on the north coast, it's set to be slightly cooler on the south.

"Showers again for areas like Port Shepstone and Margate this evening temperatures are expected to be above 20 degrees."

Temperatures are also dipping in the Midlands and Pietermaritzburg.

"Going for a 50% probability of showers and thundershowers. It's going to be slightly cooler compared to coastal areas. Pietermaritzburg and Greytown will go down to about 15 degrees tonight and Ladysmith and Vryheid about 19 degrees tonight."

But Dlamini says the 60% chance of thundershowers expected in the province later shouldn't put a damper on partygoers' plans.

"The showers are mostly in the afternoon around 3 to 4pm. They will be developing mostly from the western parts of the province and then drifting towards the coast later in the afternoon. We might have some drizzle in some parts of the coastal areas in KZN."
