KZN warned to brace for more icy temperatures
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
South African Weather Service forecasters say with a cold front passing through the country, KwaZulu-Natal should brace for more chilly conditions.

"We will have warmer conditions for like we had during the weekend if you can remember, and then the cold front comes with the cold," says SAWS forecaster Thandiwe Gumede.
"So behind the cold front, only after it has passed, not exactly when it hits, so only after it has passed that's when we start experiencing the colder conditions or the significantly lower temperatures."

The weather office issued several warnings for the province on Tuesday.
"The first one is for damaging winds. It's along the coastal areas of Kwazulu-Natal, mainly for the first half of the day. The winds are expected to moderate during the course of the afternoon," says Gumede.
"The wind direction that is expected is mainly southerly to south-westerly. The second alert is for damaging waves mainly for the first half of the day subsiding during the course of the afternoon going towards evening."
