Passenger rail agency, PRASA in KwaZulu-Natal says train services in areas affected by the recent severe storms are expected to resume again today.
Some train operations in eThekwini were halted after tracks suffered major damages during the flooding.
Some sections of the rail network were also left covered with mud and debris.
Commuters have had to rely on other forms of transport since the Easter long weekend.
Services are expected to resume at the South Coast, Wests, Cato Ridge, Pinetown, Stanger, KwaMashu, Bridge City and Crossmoor stations today.

Head of communications, Zama Nomngaga says repair work is still being carried out in other areas.
"After we had the floods, our engineers went to check the damages caused. The cost of the damages are more than R50-million. There are areas that need to be repaired and others replaced - because of the excessive damage," he said.
He says passengers with monthly tickets for April will be compensated.
