Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN Tourism's trying to help Durban's Hilton Hotel get back on its feet.
It's after the 5-star establishment announced it would be closing its doors, temporarily, as it was unable to financially support operations due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The international hotel group took a decision, after the outbreak, to close down over a thousand Hilton Hotels worldwide - including one in Cape Town last year.
KZN Tourism says it understands the group's under serious pressure adding it's concerned about the closure's impact on jobs. MEC Ravi Pillay.

"The Hilton has a strategic location and indeed a partnership with the Albert Luthuli National Convention Centre which has been the most successful Convention Center for some time.
"We are confident that they will retain that particular status. The decision being a temporary one we will continue to work with the management of the hotel to make the reopening sooner rather than later," adds Pillay.
