KZN top cops honoured at awards ceremony

KZN police officials say they are convinced the province has amongst the best police officers in the country.

Yesterday SAPS members were recognised for their contribution to the force at the Provincial Excellence Awards in Durban.
Ugu District Cluster Commander, Thembi Ndlovu, was awarded for her work in leading a team that apprehended suspects who hacked to death 8 family members in Msinsini, near Port Shepstone last year.
This led to a prosecution within 8 days.
"On that day we started working from 2 O'Clock in the afternoon and by 8 O'Clock at night we had arrests made. We apreciate that senior managers recognise the hard work we do," she said.
"As for me this shows that I am a commander who can command a group of people who can listen and understand what the community needs," Ndlovu said.
