KZN takes lead in 'Going Green'
Updated | By Portia Cele
A three-day conference - on how infrastructure and businesses in KZN can adopt more sustainable practices - wraps up in Pietermaritzburg today.
The event has been attended by students, and young professionals - in the public and private sector - within the built environment industry.
KZN MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works, Ravi Pillay says the turn-out to the conference is indicative of the province's commitment to going green.
"We've had very positive outcomes with businesses wanting to work more closely with government. It's building a three-way partnership between academia, the private sector and government," he says.
Head of Department of Public Works, Thulane Mdadane says the event marks the start of long-term adherence by key industry players to the Green Building Policy. Listen below.
