KZN suspects questioned in University of Fort Hare murder probe

Suspects from KwaZulu-Natal have been taken into custody part of an ongoing murder and attempted murder investigation at the University of Fort Hare.
Fifteen more people have been nabbed, taking the number of those detained now, to 25.
The arrests follow the murders of the varsity's fleet manager, Petrus Roets and the vice chancellor's bodyguard, Mboneli Vesele.
National SAPS spokesperson, Athlende Mathe says over the Easter weekend, police swooped on suspects in KZN, Gauteng, and the Eastern and Western cape provinces.
"The fifteen suspects face a string of charges ranging from fraud, corruption, kidnapping, murder and attempted murder.
"They are expected to make their first court appearance on Tuesday, 02 April 2024 at the Dimbaza Magistrate’s Court in the Eastern Cape.
"The National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola says the task team will continue to do their work without fear or favour. "
