KZN students to march against gender-based violence
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Students from KZN universities will embark on a silent protest against gender-based violence today.

They've gathered at DUT's Steve Biko Campus and will be marching from to Durban City Hall.
They will cover their mouths with tape to illustrate the difficulties many woman face when reporting rape cases.

Larissa Klazinga with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation says women abuse is a contributing factor to the spread of HIV.
"There's an epidemic of gender-based violence in South Africa. We also know that we've been unable - despite our best efforts - to stop new infections. It's clear there's a link. Unless as an HIV organisation, we start addressing gender-based violence - we are never going to stop the spread of HIV," she says.
Organisers expect hundreds of people to join the march.
