KZN still accounts for majority of new Covid-19 cases

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says 198 more people, diagnosed with coronavirus, have died.

This brings the number of those who've lost their lives to 83 617.
Over 4 100 new cases have been picked up in the last 24-hour cycle, which translates to a 14.0% positivity rate.
More than 1 100 of those infections were recorded in KwaZulu-Natal.
"The majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal (28%), followed by Eastern Cape (24%). Free State accounted for 12%; Western Cape accounted for 11%; Northern Cape accounted for 9%; Mpumalanga accounted for 6%; Gauteng Province accounted for 6%; North West accounted for 4%; and Limpopo Province accounted for 1%," said the NICD.
More than 23 000 people came forward in the province on Monday, to take the coronavirus vaccine.
Nationally, 13.6 million jabs have been administered to date.
