KZN royal household happy with Reed Dance
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya

More than 40 000 maidens took part in this year's event at Nongoma, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
King Goodwill Zwelithini's spokesperson, Prince Mbonisi Zulu says they are still trying to get to the unusual behaviour displayed by some maidens at the event.
Some maidens reportedly started crying and rolling on the ground on Friday and Saturday.
The King's speech was interrupted and President Jacob Zuma had to be escorted out of the area for security reasons.
Prince Zulu says this type of behaviour has not been encountered before at the Reed Dance.
"It was just like a drama to us. I'll call it running - because there was a spiritual thing that came over the maidens but that we can not entertain. Besides that incident, overall, the King was happy. I think the nation was also happy," he said.
