KZN remembers Battle of Isandlwana

The 19th century Battle of Isandlwana has been commemorated in KZN. See pictures of the event here.

Attended by King Goodwill Zwelithini and KZN Premier Senzo Mchunu, the first encounter between the British and the Zulus in the AngloZulu War was re-enacted in Pietermaritzburg at the weekend.
The KZN Premier says the event reminds South Africans of an important part their history. He says the unity that was achieved should still be honoured today.
According to historical records, the Anglo-Zulu War was fought on 22 January 1879.
The Zulu King announced at the event a dialogue on social cohesion will be carreid out by job creation enterprise, Bayede Foundation in a bid to end racial prejudice.
