'Showboating' KZN Range Rover driver to remain behind bars

KwaZulu-Natal authorities have found the driver of a Range Rover who was captured on video dangerously driving through the water before ending up with a partially submerged SUV.
In the video, a crowd cheered the man on while he man could be seen speeding close to some beachgoers in Richards Bay.
“On the 1st of January between 6am and 6pm police officers received countless of complaints of a video that was circulating on social media where a man was seen driving through a coastal zone in Richards Bay,” says KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala.
“On the 4th of January, a 31-year-old suspect was brought to Richards Bay police station where he was arrested and charged for driving a vehicle in a coastal area without permission.
“The suspect appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrates court on 5 January and his case was remanded to 15 February.”
