KZN political parties pay tribute to Zulu Queen

Political parties in KZN have been reacting to the death of the Regent of the Zulu nation - Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu.

She passed away yesterday  - nearly seven weeks after the death of King Goodwill Zwelithini. 


The IFP's Velenkosini Hlabisa says they're struggling to digest the news. 


"This came as a shock, at a very short time after the departure of his majesty. We pray that God strengthens and comforts all the queens and the children of his majesty and the royal family. The Zulu nation is also in our prayers."

The DA's Francois Rodgers said: "The Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal extends it's heartfelt and sincere condolences to the royal family and to the entire Zulu nation on the sad news on the passing of her majesty Queen Dlamini-Zulu. It's been a difficult time for the royal family."


The ANC's Nhlakanipho Ntombela said: "Hopefully [the family] can navigate through these challenging times and they remain strong, humble and united as a family."
