KZN police seize over 300 illegal firearms
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Over 300 illegal firearms were confiscated in KwaZulu-Natal last month and more than 200 people arrested, according to the KZN SAPS.
Police seized pistols, rifles and homemade firearms as well as over 3 000 rounds of ammunition.
Provincial Commissioner, Khombinkosi Jula says the suspects appeared in various courts around the province.
"We realise that the battle is not over and that this is just the beginning of a new offensive as we wage this war on criminality in KwaZulu-Natal."
"We call on citizens to work with police on the ground and to leave no space for criminals to move freely, as we reclaim our streets," he said.
