KZN police: Maximum force will be on the ground this festive season

Law enforcement personnel say maximum manpower is needed on KwaZulu-Natal's streets over the holiday period.

KZN police spokesperson Jay Naicker says it's vital to their festive season operational plan.
Thousands of visitors are expected to arrive in the province to celebrate the festive season from this weekend.
Naicker says patrols will increase in the various tourist hotspots.
"Crime Intelligence is also gathering intelligence on criminal activities and they play a very vital role during the festive season with proactive intelligence to assist the security forces on the ground. Reaction Teams will be in place to be quickly dispatched to crime scenes and any crisis that may arise.
"Police garages have been tasked to expedite the repairs and services of vehicles to ensure that we have sufficient transport for members to respond to complaints and to maintain a high police visibility.
"We make a humble appeal to parents to take care of their children over the Festive Season. Schools will be closed and we find children on the streets left to fend for themselves."
