KwaZulu-Natal police have identified the police officer who had allegedly passed out at the entrance of a shopping mall in the Durban area last week.
Provincial spokesperson, Jay Naicker says they have launched a probe into his conduct.
Photos of the man, lying on the floor in full uniform at the entrance to a shopping mall in Westville, were circulated widely on social media.
Naicker says they have established that the man was not on duty at the time of the incident.
He says they are also looking into claims that he was under the influence of alcohol.
