KZN police close to making arrest of suspected cop killer
Police say they are on the trail of a murder suspect wanted for allegedly gunning down an intelligence unit member in Nsuze near Nkandla.
Two officers were shot while tracking a wanted murder suspect in the area on Sunday.
Both were rushed to hospital and one later succumbed to his injuries.
The National Commissioner of Police, General Khehla John Sitole has ordered a wide scale manhunt for the suspect.
SAPS spokesperson Vishnu Naidoo says the suspect is extremely dangerous.
"It's also indicative of how dangerous this person is. It's alleged that he committed murder before, it's alleged that he committed murder again. So, he is considered to be a very dangerous person."
"We are still searching for the suspect. We have an idea as to exactly who we are looking for at this point in time. It's just a question of establishing the whereabouts and arresting them and bringing them to book," he said.
