KZN ANC PEC cannot attend elective conference as provincial leaders
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
There have been two major outcomes in ANC court battles today.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court has granted the KZN ANC leave to appeal the court's earlier decision to declare the 2015 provincial ANC conference unlawful.
But the court has also granted an execution order sought by the so-called rebels for the Provincial Executive Committee to vacate office pending the appeal.
As a result of this order, the PEC will not be able to go to the national conference as ANC leaders in the province.

The ANC's Super Zuma says they respect today's ruling, but will challenge the execution order.
The court decision came shortly after the High Court in the North West nullified the Bojanala Regional Conference and 32 branch general meetings.
This means from the affected branches of the Bojanala region, which is the biggest region for the ANC in the North West, cannot attend the party's national conference in Johannesburg this weekend.

Speaking in Johannesburg after the court ruling, ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe said they do not necessarily agree with the judgement.
The ANC in the North West has indicated it will appeal the ruling.
