KZN's Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has ordered a probe after footage emerged showing officers assaulting a man, in Tongaat.

The incident is understood to have taken place on Friday night.
In a statement, KZN police say in the CCTV camera footage a police officer is seen hitting a man in what appears to be an unprovoked act.
Provincial spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says several police officers then arrive and continue to attack the man.

"Mkhwanazi demanded a detailed report on what led to the attack to the man and ordered for corrective steps to be taken against those officers who will be found to have acted against SAPS Code of Conduct and the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.
"Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi said that during the execution their duties, police officers must be mindful of the Constitution and the Code of Conduct and must strive to uphold the law at all times."
