KZN officer wanted in connection with suspect's murder dies

It's emerged a police officer who was wanted in connection with the alleged torturing of a suspect to death has killed himself.
Three other officers were arrested on Sunday after allegedly torturing a suspect during an interrogation at the Muden police cells earlier this month.
The suspect's body was dumped in a nearby bush. Moses Dlamini, who speaks for the IPID, says the suspect's family raised the alarm.
"The family noticed that the deceased had not returned home, they then reported him missing at the same police station but they were told that the deceased had been released on the same day after questioning," Dlamini said.

He says a task team was established to investigate the case - and the three officers were taken into custody - while a fourth took his own life.
"Of those arrested, one is from Muden detectives unit and two are from the crime intelligence unit in Greytown. One of the suspects sought has since committed suicide," he said.
The officers face charges of murder, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and defeating the ends of justice.
Dlamini says more arrests are expected.
