That is the view of Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO, Dumile Cele.

Cele had been speaking at the KZN Business Conversations at the Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, north of Durban yesterday.

The event was geared towards kick-starting the dialogue around how business leaders can actively change the narrative around the province.

"Some of the things investors are looking for is more than just a warm climate. You are looking for people - skills - you are looking for infrastructure, innovation and partnerships," she said.

Meanwhile, Sandile Zungu, the executive chairperson of the Zungu Investments Company, says there are two things businesses must do to take full advantage of the conditions in KZN:

East Coast Radio general manager, Boni Mchunu said it was amazing to see so many great business minds all together in one room.

Mchunu said it is clearly time to agree to mobilise around KwaZulu-Natal as a business destination.

She said the private and public sectors need to be aligned to achieve the province's goals.
