KZN murder-accused must be denied bail: victim's mom
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Members of the Right to Know Campaign will picket outside the Pietermaritzburg High Court today where an Eshowe farmer is expected to apply for bail.
The accused has been charged with the murder of a 13-year-old boy. He allegedly ran over the boy with his vehicle in 2014.
According to Right to Know, the farmer had initially been charged with reckless driving and hadn't been arrested until they intervened.
The campaign wants the accused to be denied bail. The mother of the boy, Lindiwe Khanyile says her son would have started high school this year.
"It's better he doesn't get bail because he's caused so much damage. I wish him nothing but hurt as well like he caused hurt to me," she said.
