The executive council was announced yesterday, following the inauguration of the premier.

New Education MEC, Kwazi Mshengu says opposition parties will oppose anything and everything.

"No one is born with experience. As an MEC for Education, I'm really honoured to be assigned such a huge responsibility by the ANC. I assume this responsibility of behalf of my generation and those to come. When I do right - the ANC and society will be confident in giving young people more opportunities," Mshengu said.

Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu was named the new Health MEC.

"An MEC is a political head. The MEC is there to give political guidance on the policies of the ruling party at the time. I have more than enough experience on that front. What will be needed is to have an HOD who is experienced, who understands the department and who is also a medical doctor," Simelane-Zulu said.
