KZN mayor slams homosexuality claims
Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe

Mayor Reverend James Mthethwa allegedly made the comments at the launch of the Umzinyathi Community Health Work project in Dundee this week.
Mthethwa reportedly slammed married men in particular who may be bisexual and infect their partners.
He has told Newswatch that the claims are false saying he spoke on a variety of issues around good behaviour.
''I never said that, I even said to have sex with somebody is your choice and nobody should be discriminated on that issue. I said in order to overcome sexual diseases we need to behave.
"I spoke about condoms, I spoke about Ben 10s, and even older people enticing young girls,'' he said.
The Durban Lesbian and Gay Centre's Nomcebo Thungo feels leaders should be responsible when they speak about sensitive issues, saying a careless comment could lead to further discrimination.
''As a person who is a leader and who knows that there are people who live different lives to say something to an effect that being homosexual is wrong and we have some kind of virus that's going to spread everywhere is a bit concerning for us,'' Thungo said.
