KZN matrics receive results after three-year court battle
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
139 young men and women from Mashiyamahle High School's class of 2014 can now pick up their matric certificates, after spending years locked in a legal battle with the Department of Education.
They were initially barred from collecting their certificates with their peers amidst allegations of cheating.
They have been in and out of court over the course of the last four years but the department's Muzi Mahlambi says the issue has now been resolved.
"Some of them did come forward when we did investigations. They did co-operate with us. Some did rewrite their exam so their results - in the form of a certificate - are ready for collection at the district office. Those who want to improve their results can get in touch with the very same district office as to the processes of how to get registered."
