Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A man accused of killing his mother is due back in a Durban court on Thursday.
Shalendra Samath has been charged with the murder of Ormilla Samath.
The 62-year-old was found with stab wounds in the kitchen of her Everest Heights home last year.
"The state is alleging that in July 2021, Samath murdered his mother and withdrew money from her bank account, using her stolen bank card," says KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara.

"This happened following an altercation between them, and Samath evaded authorities but was arrested shortly after.
"Samath remains in custody as he had abandoned his application for bail on two occasions. The matter returns to court on 15 September 2022, for further evidence in the defence case."
