KZN maidens preparing for annual Reed Dance

Up to 2000 KZN maidens will be attending a camp this weekend set to prepare them for next month's Reed Dance.
The educational and artistry event takes place at a community hall at Ngwelezana, in uMhlathuze, north of Durban tomorrow.
Organisers from the City of uMhlathuze have identified and will address key issues that affect the youngsters' lives.
Deputy Mayor, Dudu Sibiya and Speaker, Slondile Mkhize will be addressing the attendees.
"This activation is called Siyaya Emhlangeni whereby all these maidens are hosted in a camp to be given tips on social ills, health, sanitary matters and other socially related issues," Spokesperson, Mdu Ncalane said.

Buses will transport the young women - from areas such as KwaMkhwanazi, KwaDube, Somopho, KwaBhejane and KwaMadlebe - to Ngwelezane.
The annual Reed Dance will take at Nyokeni Royal Palace, in Nongoma, north of the province.
