KZN Health supports screening campaign
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
The MEC for Health in KwaZulu-Natal has thrown his weight
behind a province-wide screening programme, announced by Premier Willies Mchunu
on Thursday.
The programme is expected to focus on testing for a wide variety of prevalent diseases and conditions, including cancer, TB, HIV, diabetes, high blood, hypertension and obesity.
MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo says he is excited about the initiative.
“Premier Mchunu made a very bold statement that it will have to start with us, as leaders in our government departments. As the Health Department, we must do everything possible to assist all MECs as champions,” he said.
