KZN Health responds after DA denied hospital access
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN Health has refused to be drawn on the process the DA followed before party members tried to tour Addington Hospital's Oncology Unit.
The DA's shadow Minister of Health, Patricia Kopane and the party's provincial spokesperson for Health, Imran Keeka were barred from entering the unit yesterday.
They were then locked out and escorted off the hospital premises by security.
Kopane and Keeka insist they followed the correct procedure to acquire permission for the visit.

Kopane, who called the Health MEC from Addington, was told that they could not continue with their visit.
The department's Sam Mkhwanazi says a statement has been issued by the department on the incident. Mkhwanazi says the party should follow due process.
"The Office of the MEC is open. All they need to do is inform the office of the MEC, make a request and be specific as to which part of the hospital or facility they may want to go through and that will be arranged," he said.
