KZN Health engages in meetings with PAWUSA to avert possible strike

The KwaZulu-Natal Health department is meeting with the Public and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (PAWUSA), to find ways to avert possible strike action that could halt operations at one of the province's busiest mortuaries.
KZN health spokesperson Noluthando Nkosi says they're holding meetings with shop stewards.

Earlier this month, workers downed tools at the mortuary on Durban's Magwaza Maphalala Street, formerly Gale Street, for 24-hours.
They're not happy that a senior official, who they accuse of mistreating staff, was re-appointed.
Unionised workers stayed away on Monday.
PAWUSA's Halalisani Gumede says staff want to be treated with dignity and respect.
