KZN govt should review its COVID-19 isolation plan - SAMA
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The South African Medical Association (SAMA) believes the KwaZulu-Natal government should consider a different approach when treating COVID-19 patients.
As part of their new strategy to combat the disease, Premier Sihle Zikalala said those who test positive for the virus in KZN would be sent to designated isolation facilities.

SAMA's Mvuyisi Mzukwa says the plan isn't in line with the World Health Organisation and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases guidelines.
"Already you have people who don't want to be tested because they say, 'If I get tested, I will be forced into quarantine', but if we had a different approach to this ,we wouldn't be scaring the public. So you are already stigmatising this pandemic when you utter such statements."
