KZN govt assures cops probing Phoenix killings

The KwaZulu-Natal government has assured the families of the victims who were killed in Phoenix during last week’s violence that police are working to solve the murders.
Premier Sihle Zikalala and members of the provincial cabinet and officials from eThekwini Municipality paid a visit to some of the families in Inanda, north of Durban, on Tuesday.
They also stopped at the Phoenix police station to receive a full briefing on the cases.

Zikalala said he doesn’t want to see this type of violence happening again.
"We visited the Nzimande family, and then we meet with the families of about 22 people who died from the three the wards of Inanda.
"They are investigating 38 cases, but these include the cases that happened in Verulam and other areas surrounding Verulam. But also we were here to ensure that we start the process toward engaging on an intense programme of social cohesion."
