KZN filmmaker remembers industry icons Mary Twala, Welcome Msomi

KwaZulu-Natal born filmmaker, Anant Singh says the arts industry has lost two great giants at the weekend.
Singh was saddened by the passing of veteran actress Mary Twala and playwright legend Welcome Msomi who both died on Saturday.
The filmmaker who worked with Twala in the making of Sarafina and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom says she was an exceptionally talented actress who remained humble throughout her career.
Singh says Msomi's work will forever be remembered in theatre spaces in Durban and across KZN.
"As a person from KwaZulu-Natal - these huge icons are originally based from here.

"The creative communities out of our province is so strong, and we need to continue to develop them and give opportunities in the creative industry as a memory to these exceptional people that have talents and have passed on.
"So it's a celebration of their life and the fact that they have done exceptional work that they live on forever."
