KZN father jailed for raping daughter

A KwaZulu-Natal father has been sent to prison for raping his young daughter.
The man is said to have raped the girl between 2005 and 2009 in Taylor's Halt, west of Pietermaritzaburg.
"The rapes continued until 2009 when the child reported the attacks to her mother," he said.
A case of rape was opened at Taylor's Halt SAPS, with the docket being transferred to the Plessieslaer Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation.
The abuse started when the child was 7-years-old.

"The rapes continued until 2009 when the child reported the attacks to her mother," he said.
The Pietermaritzburg Regional Court found that the father had also threatened his daughter, saying that he would assault her if she told anyone about the rapes.

The 46-year-old father was arrested and appeared in court several times before being convicted and sentenced yesterday.
